Terms and conditions

Physible is a community of professionals and researchers in the area of physics education. By registering as a member of Physible, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Membership

Membership of Physible is open to all SUPERCOMET 2 university partners, subcontractors, reference group members and teachers who have completed the SUPERCOMET 2 seminar.

Collegiality

The success of Physible depends on the collegiality of its members. All postings and contributions should contribute to that ethos. Whilst debate and feedback on learning materials is encouraged, each member must take care to ensure that their comments are constructive and cannot be construed as personal. The intellectual, cultural and pedagogical positions of other members should always be respected, particularly when challenged.

Your content and contributions

You are solely responsible for content you transmit or post using Physible. The content you distribute shall not infringe any third party s intellectual property rights or the rights of privacy of any third party.

Copyright of contributions

You will be invited to choose the level of copyright you would like to assign to the learning objects you submit to Physible using Creative Commons Licensing ( http://creativecommons.org/about/licenses/ ) . You will be offered the following copyright options:

I cannot advise on Norwegian/Romanian copyright laws (as I imagine that Norway/Romania will be the jurisdiction for SUPERCOMET 2 Online). I would, however, recommend something along the lines of Creative Commons, but would again recommend the use of a legal professional in this area as I am not qualified to offer advice.

You will retain the copyright on all your other postings within Physible, although you grant SUPERCOMET 2 and its partners the right to analyse and re-produce your postings in research and subsequent publications and in the future development of SUPERCOMET 2, Physible and related products/services.

Use of others teaching materials

In using the materials provided by others, you should respect their copyright wishes. You acknowledge that Physible does not quality assure the materials submitted, and that it is your responsibility to review them carefully before deciding to use them in your teaching.

Feedback on materials used

Please attempt to give feedback to authors on all teaching materials used. In the spirit of collegiality, keep the comments specific, constructive and targeted at the teaching materials, not the person who produced them. Be specific about the context and manner in which materials have been used.

Security

You agree to ensure that you do not transmit viruses or similar programs to Physible and that you will not share your logon password with others.

Posting Etiquette

Please make sure that you post in the correct forum and topic area. In particular, take care that postings are always submitted to the appropriate language forum (don't, for example, contribute a German posting to a French forum.) Cross-postings are discouraged.

Policy

The details you provide in registering for membership of Physible will be used in the following ways:

  • Your name, profession, institution, and information about your teaching will be form your Physible profile which will be available to all members.
  • A list of the materials you contributed will be available to other users in your profile
  • Your email will be used to send you newsletters about the development of Physible, SUPERCOMET 2 and the use of Superconductivity in teaching, unless you specify otherwise. It will not, however, be visible to other members of the community.
  • Before your registration is accepted, your email will be verified.
  • Your IP address will be automatically logged for security purposes.
  • None of the above data will be transferred to a third party.

We would, similarly, request that you do not to pass any other member's data to a third party without their prior agreement.

You will need to check Norwegian/Romainan data protection laws and whether you need to register this database and also your legal responsibilities (e.g. can those in non-EU countries access the profile data.)

And finally…

As Physible is a community of educational professionals, it is a peer-moderated space and the sole responsibility for contributions lies with the person making the submission. However, Physible reserves the right to remove any postings at any time that it judges to be in breach of the policies. It may also cancel your membership should you fail to abide by these policies.

  • I agree to the above terms and conditions
  • I agree to SUPERCOMET 2 using my email to contact me about the development of SUPERCOMET 2 and Physible-related activities.
